One of the primary missions of FACET is to advocate for excellence in teaching. Over the years, how teaching excellence has been defined has changed tremendously. Currently, teaching excellence encompasses not only demonstrated excellence in the classroom but leadership in teaching innovation, mentoring, peer review, and the scholarship of teaching and learning. Putting together a teaching dossier for promotion and tenure that conveys teaching excellence can be difficult. Having examples of what teaching excellence might look like in a dossier would be very helpful to those contemplating having teaching as their area of excellence.
As a result, the collection of examples below highlights various sections of the promotion and tenure dossier relating to teaching. These documents have been shared by FACET colleagues from across the state and will be updated annually by the FACET office.
