FACET believes the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) invites faculty into academic dialogue aimed at developing teaching practices that stimulate deep learning.
FACET, through the Mack Center for Inquiry on Teaching and Learning, its publication of the Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, the Journal of Teaching and Learning with Technology, and numerous volumes of Quick Hits provides venues for this faculty dialogue and supports the dissemination of practices that promote student learning.
The Mack Center supports SoTL research with a fellowship program for faculty to develop strategies for enhancing teaching and learning. In addition, the Mack Center partners with FACET to offer travel grants for faculty presenting SoTL work at conferences.
These programs encourage inquiry in SoTL, promote the results of those inquiries, and foster educational excellence at Indiana University and internationally.
