About
Each year the Mack Center selects a group of fellows to conduct ambitious research in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning and to participate in our community of SoTL scholars. Fellows not only work on their own research with the mentorship of a community of SoTL scholars, but also have additional opportunities for collaborating on additional research projects. Mack Fellows receive $1,000 in initial research funds and $1000 after they complete their project and submit a paper to a scholarly journal.
Responsibilities
Mack Fellowships begin in March and end in May of the following year. The dates below begin with the academic year during which a candidate submits a proposal. Candidates submit a proposal in the fall. Mack Fellow finalists are chosen typically in November of that fall. Mack Fellows are selected from the finalist pool and are announced in the following February. The fellowship begins at that point with project typically taking about a year to complete. Below is a typical timeline for the application process as well as the Mack fellowship year.
