Rhythm of Renewal: Rediscovering Your Circle of Control
We are excited to announce the call for workshop proposals for the upcoming FACET Retreat 2026. This year's retreat theme is Rhythm of Renewal: Rediscovering Your Circle of Control. The retreat focus is on strategies to ground ourselves in times of uncertainty, change, perhaps what may even feel like chaos.
We are continuing the spirit of a retreat with workshops and activities that focus on us individually and as a community to help you feel rested, rejuvenated, refreshed, reinvigorated. We want to help you re-develop strategies of renewal to empower you to move forward with positive momentum. Let’s use this time to filter out the noise and explore ways to sustain that rhythm.
This call for proposals seeks workshops that provide:
- Strategies to implement individually in our everyday lives
- Strategies to positively stay connected with colleagues after a gathering such as this retreat
This call is in line with a retreat meant to rejuvenate us as educators and help us build community as an organization. Our opening event will encourage discussion on the circles of control, influence, and concern, and our retreat activities will encourage social interaction. For our workshops, there is a flexible time limit of up to three hours to allow for a wide variety of ideas from a brief workshop to an in-depth topic. We encourage collaboration—especially with someone outside your discipline or campus!
We invite individuals or teams of 2-4 to submit proposals for interactive and creative workshops that align with our theme and help us achieve the following four goals:
- Connection: Workshops that foster meaningful connections among participants.
- Well-being: Workshops that provide strategies for maintaining well-being (physical, mental, emotional) as individuals.
- Empowerment: Activities that offer actionable strategies participants can feasibly implement.
- Creativity: Workshops that encourage creative expression and innovation.
Please submit your proposal by completing this form by March 8, 2026. The first four sections of this form are for facilitator and co-facilitator details. The fifth section is for the details of the workshop: title, description, etc.
