The FACET Steering Committee has approved changing the title of Campus Liaison to Associate Director. This change, which took place immediately following this summer’s vote, was to more accurately reflect the responsibilities of this role on each campus. Traditionally, the position has entailed more than simply serving as a liaison to the FACET office. Associate Directors serve a pivotal role in making FACET’s presence, programs, and resources accessible to the campuses. Some of these duties include recruiting and organizing new membership applications, coordinating workshops and other campus activities, collaborating on initiatives for teaching and learning, managing a budget, interfacing with campus administration, and much more.
“Associate Directors are essential for driving FACET initiatives and operations at the campus level,” explains Dr. Clark Barwick, who serves at the FACET Bloomington Campus Associate Director. “This title change better aligns with the responsibilities and expectations of the position. I am so pleased that FACET Director Michael Morrone and the Steering Committee recognized the need for this change and eagerly supported it. Our ADs are instrumental in the success of FACET.”
