The 2020 retreat has been re-envisioned as a series of online events, culminating in our 2021 retreat, which we anticipate will be a face-to-face event. We will continue with the timely theme of “Creativity and Experience.” This decision was made with the guidance and input of the Steering Committee, the Retreat Planning Committee, IU Conferences, and colleagues in University Academic Affairs:
The series of events will begin with a keynote webinar provided by Scott Barry Kaufman, author of Wired to Create. It will take place Friday afternoon on September 11, 2020. Please mark your calendars and let others know! Attendance at this webinar will not be limited to the FACET membership.
In the coming months the Retreat Planning Committee will issue a call for a FACET Quick Hits publication on “Bringing Creativity to the Classroom.” We plan to collect the quick hits from our members during this year, with hopes that we can unveil the book at the 2021 retreat. The current idea is to make this an online publication using Pressbooks.
We will soon update the FACET website with more details about other retreat events, including the induction ceremony, the 2020 Innovate Award ceremony, PA Mack Award keynote, and other events.
Our 2021 retreat is scheduled for June 11-13, 2021 at the Sheraton Louisville Riverside in Jeffersonville, IN.
