Discovering the Learner Within
As teachers and learners, our students and we are engaged in discovering, nurturing, encouraging, and accessing knowledge. This year’s Retreat theme aims to open the door to our students’ “teacher within” as well as our own “learner within.” We all learn when we teach, and accessing that process lies at the core of the most successful pedagogical innovations. Thus, the planning committee seeks proposals in which retreat participants take stock of the following:
- Our best practices in teaching and learning—both for our students and ourselves;
- Our and our students’ willingness to take bold, new steps in creating, constructing, and accessing new environments conducive to learning and teaching in the 21st century;
- Our and our students’ readiness to think creatively and constructively about the changes confronting higher education today.
