2025

May 19-21, 2025 (Mon-Wed)
Rekindling Joy
Brown County, Indiana

We are excited to announce the call for workshop proposals for the upcoming FACET Retreat 2025, scheduled for May 19 - 21 at the Abe Martin Lodge in Brown County. This year's retreat theme is "Rekindling Joy," focusing on connection, rejuvenation, and invigoration.

So, the thing about this year’s retreat is. . . it will be a retreat. We hope you’ll leave feeling rested, rejuvenated, refreshed, reinvigorated—and remembering the joy that first brought you to education. How can we holistically support ourselves and each other? Let’s figure it out together!

With this goal in mind, we're breaking the typical concurrent block schedule and replacing it with a series of plenary workshops and keynotes. This call for proposals seeks workshops designed to rejuvenate us as educators and help us build community as an organization. There is a flexible time limit of up to three hours to allow for a wide variety of ideas from a brief workshop to an in-depth topic. We encourage collaboration—especially with someone outside your discipline or campus!

We invite teams of 2-4 to submit proposals for interactive and creative workshops that align with our theme and help us achieve the following four goals:

  1. Connection: Workshops that foster meaningful connections among participants.
  2. Rejuvenation: Sessions that provide relaxation and rejuvenation opportunities.
  3. Invigoration: Activities that energize and invigorate participants.
  4. Creativity: Workshops that encourage creative expression and innovation.

Please submit your proposal completing this form by March 7, 2025.
