Gwendolyn Mettetal earned a PhD in Developmental Psychology from the University of Illinois. She is a Professor of Secondary Education and Professor of Psychology at Indiana University South Bend. She has mentored hundreds of graduate students and in-service teachers on classroom action research projects and was a founding editor of the Journal of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. She has also mentored over 100 faculty through the tenure dossier process and has published on this topic. Gwynn has has won several major teaching awards including the All IU Frederich Bachman Lieber Award, FACET, and the IU South Bend Distinguished Teaching Award. She is currently Director of the University Center for Excellence in Teaching and Co-chair of the IU South Bend Higher Learning Commission re-accreditation team.
