Robin K. Morgan received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Auburn University in 1988. She is a Professor of Psychology at Indiana University Southeast where she presently serves as the Director of the Institute of Learning and Teaching Excellence, overseeing face-to-face and distance education. She has served as the Indiana University Director of the Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching, a system wide organization devoted to recognizing and advocating for excellence in teaching.

- Mike Polites
Mike Polites is senior lecturer in the department of Communication Studies at IUPUI and has been teaching in the department for over 10 years. Polites earned both his BS and MA in Speech Communication from Ball State University, along with a Certified Training Certificate. Since 2004 he has been teaching classes on Public Speaking, Interpersonal Communication, and Interviewing Skills in the Department of Communication Studies at IUPUI. In 2012 he received the “IU School of Liberal Arts Outstanding Lecturer Award” and was also promoted to Senior Lecturer. He is a 2014 “Trustees Teaching Award” recipient. His academic interests include first year experience, humor in the classroom, methodologies for student engagement, service learning, and classroom civility. His desire to help students succeed in the classroom and after they graduate is a passion that drives him. As former college recruiter, he has spoken to hundreds of high school classrooms and thousands of students, encouraging them to continue their education. Lamia has taught at IUPUI since 2006, both on campus and currently all online. She has taught a variety of courses for the Department over the past 10 years and even helped develop the HPER P443 Internal Internship course. Lamia truly enjoys sharing the passion she has for the kinesiology field with students and inspiring them to find their own path in the area.

She has been a college instructor at Indiana University South Bend, Saint Mary’s College, Ivy Tech Community College, and Purdue University Calumet and a substitute teacher at Oregon-Davis School Corp in Hamlet, IN. Her professional experience includes positions in accounting at Toro Wheel Horse, South Bend, and at Uniroyal Plastics Inc., in Mishawaka, and as a management trainee at Whirlpool.
- David Smiley
David Smiley is a lecturer in the department of Recreation, Park, & Tourism Studies in the School of Public Health – Bloomington. He has been teaching at IU for the past 5 years in the department. He earned his BS in Recreation, Park and Tourism Management from the Pennsylvania State University and his MS in Hospitality & Tourism Management from the University of Central Florida. Prior to entering academia, Smiley had over 25 years of industry experience in the hospitality, tourism and event management field. This experience has played a large role in shaping his teaching in the THEM curriculum. In 2014, he received the School of Public Health – Bloomington’s Trustee Teaching Award. Smiley’s research focuses on student engagement and persistence and the use of technology in the classroom. He also is the Coordinator for the Core Curriculum in RPTS and is a mentor for other instructors in the Core. David’s passion is the pursuit of creating an engaging classroom that student’s will look forward to spending time in each week.
